Relationships-What is the essence of?

Technorati Profile

Relationships!?! What a very broad topic!

Well, they all start with your parents...unfortunately. I shouldn't really say that because most people's relatioships with their parents are very strong...like mine with my mother. Trust is a key ingredient in relationships...a lot of people don't realize that in order to receive trust from, basically, anyone they need to trust not only themselves, but everyone else as well. I mean, you can't exactly expect your parents to let you, say, hang out with your friends around town if they haven't met them [your friends] yet. I know my mom doesn't let me do anything with anyone I know unless she meets them first. I could be asked out on a date or invited to the movies with a bunch of my friends and the first question she'd ask is "Do I know him/them?"

Then, it goes on to relationships with friends...well, I can't say much because most of you already know how friendships should be, in your own opinions. There needs to be trust, faith, and love. Yes, love! But you can't exactly love anyone unless you love yourself first, can you? Anyway, most people wouldn't want their friends to stab them in the back every now and then. I know I certainly wouldn't! If any of my friends were to do that they wouldn't be my friends any longer. I could, or we all could, give that friend another chance, but what is the chance of them NOT doing that [backstabbing] again?

Another kind of relationship, which is common, boyfriend/girlfriend relationships. Now, this is where it gets tough. Most boyfriends/ girlfriends give me the impression that their relationship is just peachy-key...but in reality, is it? Yes, some could be all that and more, but others are different... Again, it all comes back to trust...Yep!...TRUST! Would you trust someone that constantly beats on you?? OR...Would you trust someone that cheats even if you know or not?? It's not fair to the other person if one is doing that....any of it.

Maybe some of this doesn't make sense...but I'm sure if all of you just sit down and think about ALL the relationships you have and ask yourself... "Do I trust...?"... you just might understand in the end.

Viewing The Universe

There are many ways to view the unvierse, but human views and Tralfamodorians (Slautgher-House-Five) views are two totally different ways to look at the world...the way of life.

We humans look at the world with a lot of emotions. For example, happiness, sadness, etc. We also live for today as if tomorrow will never come and there's no going back to yesterday.

Tralfamodorians have the ability to go back in time or shoot forward in time to relive their past/future experiences. Sounds pretty awesome! But there is a down side...they don't live with any other emotion other than happiness. Now, that might sound awesome as well, but wouldn't that make you think about the times that you're mad or the times when you're sad? Like, what do they do when a member of their family dies or when someone really pisses them off (not that that is possible because they only live in happiness!)? I definitely think of them.

Tralfamodorians would just think of their experiences of their past and future to deal with those situaions. Us humans would break down and cry if, say, our mom/ dad dies OR if someone pisses us off we'd want to clock them one.
This all just makes me think of how the Tralfamodorians would react if they ever were to experience our world and our ways of life.

Pro-war OR Anti-war??

Having recently read the following quote by Mary O'Hare:

"You'll pretend you were men instead of babies, and you'll be played in the movies by Frank Sinatra and John Wayne or some of those other glamorous, war-loving, dirty old men. And war will look just wonderful, so we'll have a lot more of them. And they'll be fought by babies like the babies upstairs" (Slaughter-House-Five, p. 14).

I believe myself to agree with Mary O'Hare. She points out that whether men live through or die during a war...they will be played by actors/ actresses that are more appealing to the audience. Though that has no relevance to whether or not movies promote war...I believe that movies back in the day were meant to promote war, but movies today are meant to display the reality of what does happen during and as a result of war.

Take The Patriot for example, a movie about the Civil War, shows that no matter how much you defend yourself and your family...somebody is going to get hurt...like the children in this movie...it's totally anti-war because the father refuses to be drafted to help fight against the British, but it's meant to show wars' reality.

Another war movie, Braveheart is the partly historical, partly mythological, story of William Wallace, a Scottish common man who fights for his country's freedom from English rule around the end of the 13th century...a pro-war movie...because Mel Gibson moves to fight for his country...promoting war.

Myspace.com

Do you need a place to hook up with friends??? Are you looking for a girlfriend/ boyfriend??? Or do you just want to chat??? and meet new people???

Well...myspace.com is DEFINITELY the place to go!!! You can easily set up your own profile to express who you are, as well as, meet new people. It's really awesome! Once meeting someone new or hooking up with some of your school buddies... you can chat and relate all you want.

My first time on myspace was kind of weird, but I did meet new people...well...hmmm...they are actually some old friends from Tennessee! Hehe. I'm actually relieved that I can catch up with them because I haven't seen or spoken with them in about two or three months. Some nights I exchange words with some kids in Gowanda, but it happens to be just a relapse of the school day or weekend...sometimes myspace.com is handy for those who can contact friends or classmates to see what they missed that day and so on.

I actually LOVE myspace.com! It's my connection to my fun reality (not that this isn't fun...it's a blast but...I just miss my old school and friends).
